Opportunité d'investissement

Structure de l'opération

PPP and private components of a government-prioritised plan, from feed crops to hatcheries and cold chain.

Utilisation des fonds

Feed crops USD 173.2m; feed mills USD 22.9m; broiler and hatchery USD 35.4m; market linkages and finance USD 10.0m.¹

Source des revenus

Feed grain, compound feed, broilers and eggs sold into the domestic market and the National School Feeding Programme.

Ce qui est recherché

Investors in maize and soy, feed mills, broiler and layer farms, hatcheries, processing and cold chain, through PPP or private structures.

Pourquoi le projet est bancable

Import substitution.

About USD 40m a year goes on chicken and egg imports; 60% of chicken meat and 40% of eggs are imported.¹

Feed is the margin.

Feed is 60–75% of production cost and local milling capacity is limited, so local maize and soy target the largest cost line.

Growing demand.

Per capita poultry consumption rose 47% between 2018 and 2022, with school feeding as an anchor domestic buyer.

Fiscal incentives.

Feed Salone offers a three-year income tax exemption and five-year duty-free import on feed.
